The Artist

Painter originally from Brussels, I "fell in love" with visual arts in 1990. After several years of experimentation, a "line" imposed itself on me, inscribed in the expressionist movement, mixed with a conceptual and symbolic approach.

Like a tightrope walker on his wire, I am in search of a precarious balance between extremes. This search is according to me the image of life. I have developed a visual language present in each of my paintings to express this search. As if each of my paintings became a kind of philosophical mirror, a witness and an open window to a common, elusive truth. For example, I systematically seek a balance between "opposite" techniques, between contrasts, between curves (femininity) and straight lines (masculinity) or between horizontality and verticality (the first symbolizing the individual in the multitude, the second recalling its uniqueness)...
